WorldFlight 2020

We have raised an amazing £6,621.61 for fly2help

A huge thank you from the team, to everyone who has supported us during WorldFlight 2020!

We have completed a turbulent WorldFlight 2020! Due to the National Lockdown within the UK, we had to curtail our participation in the event in the Azores on the Wednesday. This meant that we could get the Crews home before the lockdown came into force.

However, despite this, we had an amazing 4 days of flying in the Sim. With Record numbers joining us on the Livestream. In addition, due to generosity of the community, we managed to double what we raised during WorldFlight 2019!

After we finished at the Sim, many of the crew continued with the route from home. Keeping the Neptune callsign prevalent on the VATSIM airwaves during the event. This also included participating in the fabled “Bridge Run” on the return to Sydney.

WorldFlight is an annual event in which 12 full sized simulators, similar to our own, are flown in unison for a week, 24 hours a day, circumnavigating the world in 44 legs.  The event tests both the crews and the simulators to the extreme and is all for the purpose of raising money for each of the individual sim’s charity of choice. This year we have set ourselves the goal of raising £2,500 for the Gloucestershire based charity Fly2Help.

The flights will be conducted online on the VATSIM network, providing live Air Traffic Control through most of the countries that we visit. A 45-60 minute turn around is allowed at each stop and during that time the incoming crew will be fully briefed as to weather conditions along their route as well as other operational requirements.

We will be flying on the VATSIM Network using the callsign Neptune 11 Whiskey (NPT11W), check out the tracking map to see where we are!
